Ouch - you can hear the finger-nails slipping!  Now if it had been a slug, I'd have stamped on them.

All best - Gavin

It was not staged, the snail was actually hanging from a spiders web over the top of the frame. When the photo turned out (hurrah for digital cameras) the crittur was taken and disposed of. The ducks loved it. I suppose it should be entitle Molluscicide.

Eric, are you sure it was a spider's web?   I've watched a slug drop from the top of a hanging basket bracket by spinning it's own thread of slime.   I've only seen it done once.   Your pic must be one in a lifetime, well done.

I think I may have a rival in the "good photography class" :-)

Superb photo Paulistrus - and not one that I think many would have the chance of taking.

Suicidal?  Or what?

From a description of the Great Grey Slug - I'm reading a book and have just come across this sentence.

"When pairing, both partners hang twisted round a rope of slime attached to a twig."

I daren't give you the next sentence on the page, but it'd give the automatic translator something to think about!!!!!

All best, Gavin (ROFL)

And a PS - it is a brilliant photograph; well done!

I am blushing furiously. I have seen snails dangling from their own slime before, but on this occasion there was only the one snail and just off picture the rest of the web.
