Have grown some wild rocket. However it is tougher than the stuff you get in packets and the flavour is strong. Apart from deep frying it and telling everyone that it is crispy seaweed, does anyone else have and ideas what to do with it?

The wild rocket I grew i found pretty much inedible, but I didn't cook it. The main leaf rib was too tough

Use only the smaller leaves, remove the ribbed parts and shred them and add them to salads. Don't make a whole salad of them, they are too strong; you can also add them to any Italian dish, or a tomato sauce.

2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France:

Chop coarsely, then blitz with olive oil, garlic and nuts (pine nuts ideally) for a different but delicious pesto sauce.

I put just a few leaves in a cheese sandwich, it gives a super 'zing' to it.
