^^ yes, exactly, what Pauline and Cam have said has summarised what we all think.

Well, I have some Siberian Wallflowers to sow this afternoon and may put a few Swedish One Dot beans in the tub in the poly as I can't wait for next year to grow them.

Like Digeroo, I got lost and ended up at another allotment site called Thornbridge,  Had a mini panic attack (or as my sister would call it: a tantrum) and thought about just driving home again but for once, good sense got the better of me and I'm really glad it did.

Note to self: buy a satnav.

Glad you all had a great day, lots of great piccies but as said could only work out a few names to the faces.  :sunny:

I f no one minds I can use my spooky powers to add names to Bettys photos.

We're a bit late on-line today, so everything has been said, really.

It was just a fabulous day out.  I'd like to add our thanks for the hard work of organisation to Betty and Shirley, and to everyone for the delicious picnic lunch contributions.

The walk round the allotment site was very interesting, and we picked up some good ideas - especially the cordon gooseberries.

I took quite a lot of pictures of the site generally, and you can see them here:

Some have got titles, which you can see by hovering the mouse over the picture.

For Lottie Lou
Cut the courgettes up julienne style. Put the lemon juice and honey and cut up chrystalized ginger to taste mix together and leave for a few hours to marinate

So pleased that you like it

Thank you for all your kind comments about yesterday.

I forgot to thank you all for bringing cat food!

PL, I don't mind if you add names to my photos, thank you.

Melbourne, the photos are lovely and I recognised every plot (and the mens' toilets!)

I've just been sorting through the seeds which Mrs Melbourne very kindly left for me
and even after everyone has helped themselves there are at least 400 packets left!
I'm going to try to sell them and the money will go to the Lymphoma charity which
I support.

Goodlife brought lots of Daubenton's Kale plants for us and told me I could keep
what was left.  I sent an email to our plot holders this morning that it was for sale
at 40p per plant (don't really know if that's too cheap or not) and it's sold out!

If anyone fancies making the trip to Brum again next month - don't forget it's our
Summer Fayre on Saturday 17th August, 12 till 3

Wow..that was quick! If I would have known I could have propagated even more. If they went that quickly they must have been too cheap..but then again you didn't need to pot them up again.

It's always difficult to know how much to charge isn't it!  I've planted the ones
I had and if they do well I'll try to get cuttings off them.

I sold Collards and Italian Kale a couple of months ago and they went really well too.  I think people
like to try something a little different.

Thanks again for bringing them.

Let your plants to grow as big as possible for this year as they need to harden off for winter..next spring your plants will 'sprout' like mad and that is good cutting material for quick rooting and quick sale :icon_cheers:

Betty, do you have a poster advertising your open day?  If so could you send me  a copy and I'll put it up on our site.  Was on the shed (our shop) this AM and telling people what a great time I.  I had a bit of interest regarding your site.

Thank you for the inspiration and yum courgettes.  Tonight we had julienned courgettes with sesame oil, lemon juice, a splash of soy sauce and a little grated ginger.   Very nice too.

So pleased that you had a lovely day, and hope the cats enjoyed it.  If I were nearer I would have loved to have come, but will study the pictures in detail tomorrow.  Food looks great, take care.

He wasn't there Kev and we put the best loo roll out there for the visitors. That would have given him summat to moan about

Some of Galina's photos -

The one of the three cats together is quite rare because Wanda and E.T. are
usually too frightened of Psycho to go close to her!
