Would it be a good idea if we all wore some sort of a badge so
that we will know we are part of the group?

I can make some small badges, just saying something like
A4A visitor, or similar and give them to you at the gate.

What do you all think?

I was thinking of that too Betty.  It would be very useful to have our names on it too so we know who everyone is.  Perhaps something on the lines of:

A4A visitor
Forum Name
First name (if people don't mind giving it or it is not obvious from the forum name.)

Yours could be:    A4A Organiser
                         Squash 64
                         Betty

Partners could have:

A4A Visitor
Partner of Paulines7
John

I am terrible at remembering names after I have been introduced and it would certainly be a great help to me.

Having just read that Pumpkinlover and Goodlife are going together, I was wondering if anyone else wants to car share? Maybe we should all say where we're coming from?
I'm in Tadcaster, near Leeds if anyone on my route wants to share.

Very good idea.   I am happy to give a lift or share with anybody from North and East Northants or North Beds.

I've been looking back over the posts and it seemed to be agreed that we
would  aim for a 12:00 start.  Don't worry if you can't make it for 12, I know
that some of you are coming quite a distance.

You will need to phone me from the gate so if you haven't done so already
please pm me for my mobile number. Plenty of parking on site, so drive right
up to the gate.

I'll make badges and give them out at the gate.

We can have a shared lunch with everyone bringing a small amount of whatever
they fancy.

I will make some cakes, and we will provide tea/coffee/fruit tea/cold drinks.

After we've had something to eat, we could have a tour of the allotments and you can all admire my weedy plot.

We can have a seed/plant swop

It looks as though the weather will be good, which is lovely for those who like
the heat.

See you all on Saturday!

12 is perfect for me, I have arranged a test drive of a WAV vehicle.  My car is a very much loved Toyota Yaris Verso, but they have discontinued them.   It turns from a car into a van in 4 minutes. I shall really miss it.  But I need to be able to wheel my daughter in, I am getting too old to lift her and she is getting heavier.

I am hoping to leave home before we have airplanes coming in the back door and out of the front.  It's worse than usual there are 5 aerobatic display teams going to Fairford.    Even worse the wind is due to be from the East so they will be taking off in this direction as well.  Terrible.

I cannot believe you have as many weeds as me, shall I bring my hoe?  Or what about my digging hoe?  With a whole gang of us, I am sure we can get you sorted in no time. :toothy10:  Luckily without being watered quite a few of the weeds are giving up.  But unfortunately not the couch grass.

Was considering a veggie mousse inspired by Goodlife but having tasted the "peppers" I bought for it, am still haunted by visions of all A4Aers rushing to the nearest water butt after the first mouthfull.  Would a simple salad be better I think?

Having a really busy time at the mo but still hoping to be there. But doubt I'll have time to cook anything fancy so shall I bring something basic like bread? Could also bring a bottle of elderflower cordial. Squash, is it ok if I leave it until Friday to let you know if I'm coming and whether my OH is coming?

Hello, looking forward to the visit and meeting fellow allotmenteers.

Will be coming from Leicester, specifically Bobby's on Belgrave Road to acquire their fine samosas as I don't know any of you well enough to inflict my cooking on you.
