Hi again Pat.What good photographs, and what a lovely garden. You must be really proud of it and all the hard work to get it looking so nice. The pond makes me envious. After chatting about fish, and other things it is so nice to see the reality. Is the brown fish in the foreground a rudd? Looks very much like one of mine. And the white one a Koi?
Well done again.

Hi Margaret (I hope you don't mind me still calling you Margaret - old habits die hard!)

Glad you liked the photos, I must admit I am a bit of a photoholic.  Yes, you are right, the fish at the front is a rudd but the lighter coloured one is our one remaining orf, a blue one, really attractive.  They grow at an alarming rate don't they.  If you remember, I told you that all my other orf jumped out of the pond and I was unable to save them.  I hope this one doesn't follow suit.  Have you taken any photos of your pond, if so would love to see them?.....Pat

Hello Pat, what a beautiful garden :)  How long have you lived there, it looks quite established.  The house we moved to last year only had 8 mature trees and a hedgerow of very overgrown hawthorn and blackthorn.  Not a plant or a border in sight.  However, I did dig up a lot of my previous garden and transported 300 pots to the new house.  So I saved loads of dosh and my precious babies from the buyers of my old house who intended to dig them all up for a lawn :o So it was a real challenge and still very much a work in progress.  Once i get a decent camera I will be able to post piccies of my progress.  Mary

Hi Mary,

Nice to 'meet' you.  Glad you liked the garden.  :) We moved here 12 years ago, and the layout was much as it is today except for the other side of the front garden, which I haven't posted a picture of yet.  It is a large bed which was very overgrown, so we cleared alot of it out and discovered quite a few lovely shrubs which were struggling through lack of light. :'(  We found camelias, rhodedendrons and a weigela.  We also have two lovely hawthorn trees and a laburnum (I think I have posted a picture of them in my garden photos).  One of the hawthorns has a lovely twisted trunk which catches the morning sun and looks really attractive.  This was not visible when we moved here as it was covered by very uninteresting bushes.

Good job you bought alot of your garden with you when you moved.  Although I did the same when we moved here, I had to leave some of the bigger stuff behind and was shocked to see how it had been neglected when I visited a friend who lived next door once and had a peek over the fence.  It seemed such a shame after all my previous hard work.

Will look forward to seeing your photos.

Pat

Thanks BB - glad you liked the pics.  I am learning something new about this site every day :D  Wondered why my Photo message had jumped back to the top after all this time.  All I've got to do now is master the Chat Room.  Have tried this evening without success :'(
