Squash64, I truly would not let this get to you. I wouldn't assume this was you for an instant. Far too sensible and you like cats :)

It isn't possible to contact the tweeter unless you have a Twitter account.

Ah, right.  So even if you don't want a Twitter account, you have to open one anyway to contact a tweeter to have them remove a post you wrote on A4A that you never gave them permission to use.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's being dealt with and Betty isn't being stressed by anyone here.

Well open one then and don't stress Betty.

I for one do not think it's Betty, so there is need for her to worry, also as previously mentioned I closed my twitter account for very personal reasons, hence the irritation caused by seeing someone 'tweet' my posts from here on their twitter page.

I can't see the problem, has it caused any problems?

Curious??

If you google A4A it will come up with many posts.............one thing for sure is it never has been and never will be private.

Yes and those search results will link to the A4A forum, not twitter.  My issue is with the reposting without my permission on a site I want nothing to do with.  In my case its not a privacy thing as I know forums are public.

Friends always welcome on the plot, weeds by appointment only.

You can only DM(Direct Message) someone on Twitter if that person is following you.
I guess that Betty's concern is that whoever it is is showing the allotment website there when perhaps they shouldn't be.
I don't like it and it does seem rather pointless, all the more so if they're not even a member here.

Whoever it is there now appears to playing silly buggers!

The Twitter user does create the impression that he/she is Betty with the link to the Wallsall Road homepage and the abbreviated version of Betty's welcome message from its Homepage.

I wouldn't like that.

Amd I would prefer not to see any of my posts reproduced on twitter without being asked.

But I don't think people on here thought it was Betty, no need to be sensitive about that.

I'm not getting stressed at all by anyone here - honestly! But I am getting a bit stressed at what has been done, apparently in my name.

I'm sure that most of the regular posters here know me by now, so if I say it's nothing to do with me, then I know they believe me.  I'm just having trouble understanding why it was done in the first place.

Whoever it is has now changed their Twitter page as the WRA website no longer appears on it.

I've spoken to the person concerned and told them to stop and to remove the links.  It looks as though this has to be done one by one.

Unfortunately, I can't get to the bottom of why it was done in the first place.

Obviously, I don't know this person but perhaps they were just a bit thoughtless and meant no offence?

Can they delete their account and start a new one?  The only thing they use this account for is reposting A4A posts after all.

Betty - thanks for posting that.  They now seem to be posting random stuff to move the a4a links off the first page.

Im sure there was no ill intent.  No harm done.

Now that Betty has sorted that particular Twitter account, I think there is still a discussion to be had about whether we want to make it easy to put A4A posts on Twitter.  Taking away the buttons won't stop it but it takes a bit more effort to copy a URL than click a button.  I vote for remove them.

Me too. We can't stop people taking what we wright & randomly sticking it around the place, but we shouldn't give them buttons to do it with!
