Allotment in Jersey in the parish of St Brelade.
I volunteered to help to set up the project.
On the 15th September 2010 I started setting out an allotment with thirty-six plots. Thirty of them were set out using 3in square wooden posts driven into the ground and leaving 90cm above. The posts, one in corner of the plot were to be permanent. There are 130 in total.
Once set out, the plot holders were given the OK on September 28th and they went ahead with their preparations.
The smallest 85 m2 to the largest 165 m2, they face north to south and east to west. There is one plot of 80 m2 that is used by a local school and five raised beds of 9 m2, for the less-able.
A few picture to go on with. The allotment at Les Creux in the Parish of St Brelade, Jersey, just after the plot holders had starting working on them in October 2010.

And a few pictures of my garden ..

The garden is called 'Reg's Garden' and it is open every day of the year raising funds for charities. It gives me something to do. Hope that I have done the right thing, please tell me if I haven’t.

Just wonderful - both!
We used to 'market garden' in St Peter's (St Ouen's) pre-war.

Good to meet you Tim... want to tell me where you lived....Jersey is such a small place, I might know the family... My wife came from St Ouen... her family would have known everybody... especially since her grandmother ran the post office and the telephone exchange.

Les Cinq Ours, Reg - on the sea side of St Peter's.
I think that Dad rented it. Had to leave because of the War. Flew back there in '45 to have a look.
Speaking of flying, the DH 86's used to land on the sands at low tide in St Aubin's!

Welcome to the forum Reg, I used to holiday in Jersey when I was a kid, my last year was 1980 I think.
We used to play football on St Brelades Bay beach, it was that big you never bothered anyone, I may be wrong but my Dad told us it was the 3rd best beach in the world at the time, any recent piccies. ;D :D :)

Cornykev, I have heard the same about our beach being the 3rd best...possible a rumor put around by our tourism office.
Anyone ever come tenting/camping in Jersey. I managed a camping park for thirty years. It would be interesting to know if any of you had been staying at my site.
