I haven't tried the cauli curry but made the swede and potato pasties.I thought it was a strange combo but they were good.
The book itself is lovely,'got mine from Amazon for about £11 free p&p so couldn't resist it,despite having far too many cookbooks  ;)
I've bought some polenta as he's got a recipe using chilli and cheese,I've never used polenta before but have been inspired to give it a go.I'll post when I've cooked it.

I'm wondering about ordering this as well, I am a sucker for veg cook books. Enjoyed the extracts in the Guardian a while back. Would be interested in feedback from those who have succumbed, please.

Morris it really is a lovely book.
I have several of his and like the style.
Although I bought from Amazon I went to my local bookstore first and had a sneaky peek  ;)

Haha I often do that too! Or order it from the library first.

I got my book yesterday also from amazon. It looks great - the recipes sound very appropriate for lottie holders (quite a few squash recipes, I noticed as I have lots of squashes).
I did try the chickpea and cauliflower curry and felt it would be better as a side dish than a main - not enough substance really.

The polenta recipe also caught my eye - looks very comforting in the cold!

I made the polenta recipe. I've never cooked polenta before,
1,Way too much for 2 'will halve the quantity next time
2,Not tasty enough next time I'll add more chilli and perhaps use a light stock instead of water.
I made his flat onion bhajis and they were fab. It certainly gets you thinking and gives some new ideas for the stuff we grow.

I've just made the Porotos granados on p146
I substituted rosemary and parsley for the oregano (hate the stuff) and followed the recipe even weighing ingredients  :o I usually just throw stuff in.
It was absolutely smashing, really tasty and filling.Almost everything came from our allotment even the borlotti beans. It made enough for two hearty bowls full and the same for the freezer.
ps 'didn't miss the meat  :)
