Lovely bird BTW. Show champion and reserve well deserved.  :D

At least I managed to remove the life size one from the original posting! ;D

Hopefully I'll get it right next time

Of course you will.
Do you have a photo manipulation program?
If not goto Hpphoto.com and download their Photomanager program. It is very easy to use for re-sizing for posting on here and other places.

What a stunning bird!  She (assuming she is a she, she must be looking so glamerous) looks like she has had quite a hair doo.  How do you get her looking like that!?!?!?!? Cor!

Thanks Palustris, I'll take a look.   :)

Emma Jane & Mimi, - she had to be washed (in the kitchen sink)and blow dried (which she loves)

Belive me when I say that she is not looking her best at the moment with all the rain!   :-[

Oooh she looks lovely, and sooo clean and so well manned. I have a white hen (leghorn) and she has got to be the dirtiest, scruffiest looking hen. Do they have a competition for dirtiest, scuffiest hen? She would win if they did! But she has the most outrageous personality that makes her so special.

How many hens do you have Loz?

Thanks all, and at last I think i've sussed the picture size.

I must say that everyone so far has been very welcoming to the site, and very helpful.  I think I may post a little about myself on the members profiles thread just to keep it going. (And I am a little bored at work)  ;)

Jesseveve, I've got about 400 at the mo, some for showing, some for eggs and a few to run round the veg plot eating the pests.
Chicks are just hatching now for the winter shows.  I'm going to start another thread soon and attach regular updates so that you can see their progress, then if anything wins at the Christmas shows a4a folks can say that they have known the winner since they were an egg!  ::)

Are those Speckled Sussex? Our last S.Sussx bantam died in her sleep last night, old age, but she was never a very fit hen at her best.
Do you keep bantams or are all yours full size.? We are looking for a couple of Lavender Pekings.
Photgraph is just right! Glad you could manage it:)

Hi Eric

These 2 are actually speckledys, a hybrid from a UK breeder, they lay about 280 a year (although mine lay about 2 between them as they are four years old now).

I used to keep lavenders, and found they were really good on the veg plot as they are quite small and their foot feathers sort of limit the damage.  They get really attached to you and actually managed to get thru my cat flap in an effort to get in the kitchen. Gave em up tho to concentrate on the silkies.  I'm sure I could put you in touch with a reliable breeder if you wanted some.  I do keep white silkie bantams tho, and hope to start gold silkie bantams soon

Hi Wardy

You will need to have permission to post pics first.  I donated to the site and then Dan updated my login to allow pics.

Then its just a case of hitting the additional options tag above the 'post' button and selecting your picture thru the browse menu.

If you do a search and type in 'how to post pictures', there are a number of threads which come up discussing how to post in detail.

Hope this helps

Loz

No you don’t have to donate unless you want to, there are lots of ways you can upload your images on to message boards and this is one of the easiest http://www.imageshack.us/
And it’s free, simply copy paste the URL to the post, easy peasy. 8) ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Roy!

I wish I'd known about that earlier! :o

Never mind, more money than sense I'm afraid, although I am glad I donated, makes me feel that I can give a little back for the help I get here.

Actually to think about it, probably the chicken has more sense (and money) than me!   ;D
