Allotment For All Christmas Gift 2010
« on: September 28, 2010, 23:55:24 »
Hi Everyone
I just wondered if we are going to repeat last years charity gift for Christmas again this year?

Betula's good idea from last year along with Flighty raised money for Thrive.

If any one has ideas for doing another similar thing this year please post your ideas.

I think it's a very good idea so count me in please.
Thrive was a good choice last year but I'll go along with whatever is decided on.

When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Count me in!  I'll be happy to go with whatever charity is decided on, be it Thrive again which is my good cause or a different one.

I've got a Just Giving account so I'm quite willing to set up a new page for this year.

Daveyboi I hope that you had a good birthday yesterday, which seems to have been overlooked here on the forum!

Thanks for the birthday wishes Flighty.

I am heartened to see we are going to be able to do this again this year.

I myself am quite happy with Thrive unless someone has another suggestion that suits the majority of us.

I suggest that we give it a few days to see what others think then unless anyone else wants to do it I'll start a new thread with the details on what we're doing and how to donate,  and ask SamLouise to make it a sticky topic.

Yes Happy Birthday from me too.

Should just tell our new members that last year members of this forum raised money to give to Thrive at Christmastime and it was amazing how generous our members were.

I like Thrive as they are all about gardeningand growing stuff which is what we are all about so it seems the most logical charity to donate to.

I'll be happy to put in a bit - would it be possible to split it between these two suggestions, which both seem eminently suitable?

Count me in.  I have followed the work Thrive do and had hoped to volunteer last year, but it's unfortunately too London/South centric.  I like the idea of something more UK wide.
is it in the sale?
