White leaves on runner beans
« on: June 28, 2010, 06:31:28 »
Hi

I've begun to notice white-ish leaves on some of my runner beans, at the bottom, higher leaves seem OK. What is it? Will it spread? Is there a cure? [or is this why they're called 'White Lady?] ???

No it's not.

Do they need feeding? (A photo might help.)

Thanks to Trevor_D for his reply.

I gave them some liquid fertiliser on 14 June. I'll take a photo this evening, post it to the list. (If the allotment's not too muddy - it rained a bit this morning - whahay! :)

Some photos (hope this works) of my problem beans. Some of the leaves are maybe just 'burnt' by the sun, silvery colour doesn't show up very well on some of the photos, but it's there. I think it might be PEA THRIPS, which apparently attack beans as well.
