Wilko's asparagus . .
« on: February 22, 2010, 18:14:25 »
I expect that many of you have seen it at Wilko's recently. I'm a big fan of their gardening stuff but i'd like to hear if anyone has tried their asparagus before.

Its selling for 3 crowns for £1.98 or something daft like that.

Oh, yes I did buy some, in case you're wondering.  ::)
There's no allotments where I live so I'm digging up a friend's lawn....

I bought 3 packs last week. Wilko's do have some good offers. I tried growing asparagus about 5 years  ago without success so I'm going to give it another go.

I bought a pack 2 years ago only one grew, probably my fault as it was my first time growing it.

I know some one who bought some and they were all right.

I have grown all mine from seeds but in truth it is the preparation of the soil which is the secret with asparagus growing.
