winter fuel payment
« on: November 27, 2009, 10:25:19 »
Mine has not been paid yet.   Last year I received it on the 22nd.  Nov..  When I rang up got an automated message saying that payments would be paid before Christmas.  Anyone else getting it late?

Nothing, I am overdrawn. Shouldn't have paid over £800 for a holiday after Xmas (I blame my rich friend for persuading me). Perhaps they do it alphabetically, and my surname is Williams.  :( :(  I use it for Xmas presents as I pay monthly for electric and gas.  Better make some pumpkin soup.

Why would anyone phone up yet about this payment?  It isn't even winter as we know winter yet.

Makes you think these 'oldies' don't use this money for their fuel payments  ;D  No wonder people object to them getting this freebie.

Like any money from the state it never arrives until after you needed it... I don't qualify BTW...
If they pay for the fuel bill themselves from another source they can use it for what they want... it's not like "free School Meals" used to be when you got a token/ticket you could only redeem there...
 ;)

That's a shame then saddad.  What a waste of the tax payers money then.

Arriving in Nov/Dec would hardly be after when it is needed.

It is this time of year, even though the worst weather comes in January. But those worried about Xmas can use some of the cash they have put away for next years bills without going into debt.

Thanks for explaining that Ace, it makes me feel better  ;D  ;D  ;D

I still don't see why anyone would be phoning up in November to see where it was  ???
