sweetcorn question

first time grown...sweetcorn...
my q  is
should i put them on compost heap...minus cobs of course
do they rot down o/k
or are they like sunflower stalks and end up as canes

 :) hi Jim , I always put them as a base of a new heap to help with any drainage and air flow, if you see what I mean :)  as they take longer to rot/ shades x
grow your own way

  What you gotta do,   is  smash the stems with a hammer  --   or likewise,

   --  they dont break down in the compost heap unless you break those fibres, !

   Spent many a pleasant hour ''  seeing off my iritants ''  down on the lottie,     ;D

Another option is to drive over them a few times..that does the trick! ;D
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

We chopped ours up into 8/10 inch pieces and slotted into the sides of the( pallet ) compost bin , sort of bug hotel.

I've been putting my stalks through my home made shredder which works a treat, I have left some of them on the lotty then covered them with manure which I'm spreading on the lotty at the moment, no room left in the compost bins, :)
