Hi
Just thought I'd quickly introduce myself. I'm new here and new to allotments; I've never had one before and don't really know where to begin. However, I've read some of the previous posts and I know I've found the best place for help, support and advice. :D
I haven't actually got my plot yet, but I should be getting it January. It's very overgrown and I'm sure it's going to take tonnes of blood, sweat and tears before I see my first spud, but I can't wait to get stuck in. ;D

- if you look back on the photos or comments on what has been achieved, starting with a jungle, you will know that you can succeed. But do use a good barrier cream on your hands !! - Tim

Thank you for the warm welcome. :)
I had a look at some of the photos and I'm counting my blessings that my plot doesn't look as bad as some of the before photos on there. It's really just overgrown with course grass. :P
I'm going to take it slowly, just with a few spuds and easy veg to begin with, I guess we all have to start somewhere. ;)

...it's addictive though...you will think just a few spuds, and before you know it you will be planting left, right and centre! Have fun, it is great! ;D

welcome Nicki :)
You'll find all you need to know about getting started on your new lottie... and if it's not here already you can always ask - there's always someone out there that knows the answer!
I've had my first lottie for 2 months now and am completely addicted ;D I visited friends all last weekend and it was torture not having the time to go to the lottie... just 5 mins to take add some more veggie peel in the compost bin!!
you'll have to keep us posted with your progress once you get stuck in on site.
