« on: August 24, 2009, 21:55:07 »
My apple tree has got some sprigs of blossom on the ends of this season's new growth.  What's that all about?  ???

Possibly a couple of colder nights have kicked it into thinking spring is here again!!!

Got them back now to put some tread on them

Well, hopefully a second crop of apples then!  ;)  Maybe the parakeets will have had enough by then and leave some for me.

It is not uncommon.

Here is a bloom on 10th October 2006, after an unusually warm September that year (average 17.1C compared with 14.6C last year which is the norm).

For comparison, this July averaged 17.0 and this month so far 17.8, so the summer really stretched through September 2006.
