White Powder on busy lizzy's
« on: August 16, 2009, 18:43:36 »
My first attempt to ask a quesion, hope it works.

I have noticed recently my busy lizzys in hanging baskets and pots leaves were falling off, leaving bare stems.  White powder under leaves.  Any ideas.  ;D

Hi Corribee

I'd think what you've got is an attack by spider mite. Certainly would if the plants were indoors. Try spraying them with an insecticide. Spider mites are resistant to some insecticides, but at least you would let them know you're on their case.

Thank you RT.  Cant see any sign of red spider mite, several baskets are now affected.  What would the white powder under leaves be from, looks like flour on leaves
