Guantlet Gloves from Plastic Bottles
« on: October 02, 2004, 12:07:42 »
Have been reading my KG magazine today and found this great use for plastic drinks bottles. They advertised it for picking gooseberries but I will use it next time I have to prune my thorny hedge and go picking blackberries, I always end up getting prickled.

Cut the top and bottom off a plastic bottle, slip the bottle over your hand and onto your forearm. Now your forearm is protected from wrist to elbow and won't get prickled.

Brilliant!!  8)Thanks Jesse for sharing ;) will come in handy when I cut back the Piracanthas, The irony of this is that they were planted to attack or deter the burglars but they keep picking on me. :o

I read that this morning also.  Great idea!  Will be doing it when cutting back nettles to try and save my arms.
