Kiwi plant 'Jenny'
« on: June 24, 2009, 22:27:19 »
Two years ago I bought a kiwi plant, variety Jenny, because it is self fertilising. It was left in its pot as I couldn't decide on the best place to plant it and pretty much forgot about it until a few weeks ago when I noticed it had flowers on it. That made me decide it would have to be repotted and, as luck would have it a plant I had in a pot against the south-facing house wall had just given up the ghost, so I had just the right spot for it. I made a bit of a frame for the three twiggy branches to curl round and am now keeping my finger crossed that the six pea sized fruitlets won't drop off! (That is what has happened to all but two of the eight fruit on my Fantasia nectarine tree.)

I keep the pot well watered in this hot weather, but do I need to feed it - and if so, with what?
