Ours are 15 quid a year for something about 2/3rds of the "full size" though the size does vary a bit on our site and there are some half plots too I think....  there's a key deposit for the gate key.... I think the wrinklies get a discount..... we get free chicken wire (rabbits are a menace on our site) there's a communal heap of leaf-mould that's free, a cheap-to hire strimmer, seed scheme and there are water-trough systems every few plots... I'm in Oxford and we've still got a few spare plots (though I think I've just hooked someone up with one of them :D)

Also in North hertfordshire (Royston, which is just in there) I pay £10 for 5 poles.
Popularity means a lot of plots are now being split into two and sometimes even four....
Some of teh old guys remember when a plot was 20 poles (I wish)
We do have gates and very little theft / vandalsim. Water included but no compost / chippings etc.

I pay £46 for a half plot. There is water on the site but no other facilities. The site is fenced but it is far from secure.

I am a wrinkly old fart, so I pay less, and I don't care.  Do agree get up to the allotment most days, so glad I don't have to work, and get a lovely free bus pass, private pension, government pension, no mortgage and no children to look after, apart from the lovely grandchildren.  I am not moaning, I just love being a wrinkly old fart, although I must say with all my tennis look better than some of the youngsters (so there).

No local authoriity sites available So I'm on a private site..  Pay £40 for about 3/4 of a plot size.  Water at top of each row, so some are long way from water.  It goes off and on a bit.  But  price includes manure, communal shed and tool use.  Not allowed sheds hens or polytunnels.  No toilets it is a bit of an issue for me, but have managed to pee in a pot. :o

Wish I could have a bigger site, but the allotments have only been going a few weeks and there is already a waiting list.

Smugly...I pay nothing. I've got a shed and hens and a stream runs next to our plots so we have a communal pump for water. This is land purchased by the local electricity authority for a sub station. They bought a whole field, only used a quarter so the excess was split into 4 plots after I approached them and asked. There is land out there that is available for the asking. ;D

We pay £30 per year for a full plot, with £10 deposit for gate key.  There is water every few plots so fortunately no-ones too far from water.
Never thought I'd enjoy the allotment quite as much as I am!  Off to mash some home grown spuds to eat with home grown courgette and home grown beans!  Can it get any better than this?! :)

Flossy - not 'sour grapes' just a bit jealous ;). She 'lives there' cos she can, and I don't blame her, I would if I could too!
Borlotti -  Good on you! I can't wait to be an 'old fart' too ;D

I pay about £26 for half plot, we have water and toilet on site. I really enjoy it cos don't really think about the cost. As I mentioned before, there is a discount for over 65's but I am not sure how much the discount is.

We pay £15.50 for our plot which includes water for most of the year. I think there's only two or three taps on the whole site though but we're lucky to have one of them right next to us which is a God send.

There's a steady'ish supply of free manure from local farmers too but we're not allowed sheds, greenhouses or anything that can be classed as a 'perminant structure' which is a pain. There's also no association or communal hut or anything which would be nice. All things considered however, for £15.50 we're happy. :)

£20/year for pretty much a full measure of a site.  Includes water and free conversation but nothing else.  This national rail land and we run our own association but no toilets and the only communal thing is the sitehut.
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!
