Does your Council provide you with a free shed or do you have to buy one or source one yourself?

we aren't allowed sheds. They spoil the view for the rich folk across the river Mind you lots of people take no notice and have all kinds of unauthorised erections  :o

Welcome Cookieka!  ;D

If there's a shed or greenhouse (or any assorted rubbish) on our plot when we take it over, then it's ours. Otherwise we need to get our own. Most build from pallets / scaffold planks / old hoarding... but I have heard rumours that a brick one is about to be built. That will cause problems ::) We're not quite shed-ready yet (although we did get a v small one for tools) so not really entered the world of shed politics just yet.

We have to provide our own.  We are allowed one shed and greenhouse on each plot.  Some have more so it is obviously not enforced too rigorously.  I do think some of the pigeon men take the pi#s a bit because some pigeon lofts cover up to half of an allotment.

Same rules as our site.  I've just dug out the space for a shed base on my plot so now I have to lay some slabs and then purchase a shed !

Our council finally relented about a year ago and allow sheds 6' X 4' and must be preserved in dark green, home made structures not allowed.

Since then there has been repeated break ins whereas before there were none.
Best laid plans and all that

We can have a shed and a greenhouse so long as they are 'shop bought' and maintained! ...... ruins the fun of building your own!!!

Mind you though, loads of people still have greenhouses made of windows - one guy at the moment (commitee member) is making a greenhouse out of a CONSERVATORY!!!!!!!!!!!!  :o

If you do have a shed and a greenhouse think you have to pay about £2.00 each extra on your ground rent per annum!
