A new fire.
« on: March 10, 2009, 07:27:11 »
We have just bought the most amazing electric fire we have ever seen.

Not cheap, but well worth it. The Dimplex Optimyst Cadogan fire.

We have always had a coal effect electric fire.
We did have a gas wood burning fire but it was expensive to run and we only wanted it for the effect as we have two radiators in the lounge.

I searched the net for days to upgrade the one we already had, searching for a realistic electric fire.

When I saw this, I was amazed. We had to have it.

Anyway. We bought the stove one and had it fitted into our fireplace the other day and all our family are amazed to think that it is an electric fire and not a real one.

All you do is fill up a tank with water, that is fitted in the fire.

The droplets of water drip onto the five coloured bulbs and lets out smoke. The coloured bulbs shines onto the smoke making it look like flames.

Being as we don't use the heat on it, all it costs us is the electric for using the bulbs.

Wow.  I am planning to buy a wall mounted fire.   I have tried the Dimplex site.  No show.  Can you tell me where you bought it and if you don't mind how much?
