Spiritualism, black magic and the occult.
« on: February 24, 2009, 19:35:51 »
Whilst on the way home from the garden center today after spending all that money I thought I'd make it the perfect end to a perfect day and take the Missus out for a meal.

Anyway, while we was in McDonalds I thought I'd make use of the wifi access and check the Lunar planting calendar to see when the best time to plant my new raspberries would be.

I was duly presented with a page stating that the page I was looking for could not be displayed because of the filter: Alternate spiritualism/The Occult.

So unless you want to be tied, bound and thrown into the local village duck pond or burnt at the stake I suggest we all stop talking about moon tunes and anything that needs waxing or waning  :)

Tony.

Sow it, grow it, eat it.

Lol! Sounds like an over-zealous wifi. I realise that sowing by the moon is not particularly scientific, but to categorise it with witchcraft is a bit extreme.

Lunar planting is part of biodynamic agriculture which is in turn part of anthroposophy. Sprituality plays a big role in anthroposophical beliefs. In my opinion it is a somewhat warped view of spirituality as how spiritual a person is is determined by physical characteristics namely race, skin, hair & eye colour & some of the core beliefs are somewhat disturbing but all that rubbish is directly linked to lunar planting as far as the internet search engines are concerned which is why it would of been filtered out.

Last year I finished building my house, and set about arranging my no-dig veggie beds.

Being a novice veggie grower, I was unclear which direction I should align the 12 beds, so I asked my sister-in-law, who reads palms. Her advice was to use rhabdomancy, which I did.

After a few goes I realized that if I dropped 12 sticks and dug the beds according to the stick’s alignment, the beds would cross each other and I couldn’t make paths in between.  ;D

I’ve given up on divination now, and arranged all 12 beds north – south so that they get equal sunlight on both long sides.

Maybe I’ll take up divination again though…………if we have a dry summer I’ll need to find some free water……………water costs a packet plus VAT here in Denmark.

They've probably had extreme fundamentalist Christians loudly complaining about what they can access. I've met a fair few of these people over the years, and it's unbelievable how much manages to be 'the Devil'. There's a miltinational - I forget whaich - which used to use the moon and stars as its trademark, and had to change it back in the 1980's because of a campaign to convince people it was a 'withcraft sign'. The mentality hasn't changed.

Well I have a theory that's going to turn all this bio dynamic growing upside down and revolutionize the whole in tune with the moon process.

I can't plant my new raspberry canes today because it's a flower day, I've got to wait until next Monday. If I miss next Monday I'll have to wait another whole week till the following Monday. For some reason there's only one fruit day next week.

Now I can understand not planting them on a leaf day or a root day. After all who's ever heard of raspberry leaf jam or Jamaican raspberry root cake?

However my theory is... Well it's not a theory really, it's a proven fact that the more flowers you get on a plant then you should by rights get more fruit. So I'm going to plant all my raspberries, beans, peas and anything else that relies on a flower being pollinated to produce it's fruit on a flower day.

There may well be flaws to my theory which I'm sure some witch, wizard or devil worshiper will point out but it seems pretty sound to me?

I'd say that seeing how they sell books about bio-dynamic horticulture, bibliomancy should be possible.............just rifle through the pages at random, and the first place you stop will explain what to do.

Failing that,  I'd suggest cleromancy. As a gardener, you could toss some broad beans and interpret the way they fall into instructions about when to plant your raspberry canes.

Best of luck! ;D

Of course you know that the Mayan Calender runs out on the 21st December 2012, the same date for the end of the world as predicted by the ancient Sumarians.

There will be a galactic alignment which only occurs once every 3600 years.

The Orissa comet will colide with earth and knock it off it's access.

The predictions from the book of Revelations confirmed by the writings of Nostradamis will kick into place and the population of the earth will be drastically reduced by as much as two thirds.

Survivors will be pleased to note that in February 2014, provided the gamma rays from the sun's companion star Nemisis are avoided, Peace will return to the planet.

It is all true, I got it off a posting on youtube.

I did that 30 years ago. She's the one that cooks all my excellent crops...

Please tell me she's not standing behind me!  :o
