I think i have read somewhere that you can just leave them in their packaging in a cool place out of sun and other weather.

Hi Cam,
I have just been given an apple tree by a freind which she bought this time last year and planted in a pot and I have just planted it on the allotment, it looks quite happy, so I would imagine you will be fine. Is this so you can take it to your new garden? :)
