Little thread of calm
« on: November 20, 2008, 20:48:14 »
Oh dear.  There seems to be a fair amount of unhappiness and sniping around at the moment so I thought I'd start a 'happy thread' for us to share some of life's simple pleasures.

Today:

-  The sky was blue and it didn't rain.
-  My very busy mate found time to have a coffee with me.
-  Someone told me I looked well.
-  I had an email from a friend I hadn't heard from recently saying all's fine.
-  My grandaughter said hello to me on the 'phone.

Had another lovely walk with my best friends................my dogs
Spoke to my mum on the phone
Read some funny emails
Waited eagerly for the postman bringing the seed swop, looking forward to being eager again tomorrow ::)
Happy thoughts are better than sad ones :D

Good idea G ;)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

The thought of friday afternoon and no work for two days.
Standing back and looking at my newly made near perfect brassica cage.
My 3 year old running in to my arms asking if we've going to the lottie.
5.50 saturday afternoon and SPURS have taken another 3 points.
Someone told me I don't look a day over 35.  :o  ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

A chilled glass of white wine, comfy jim jams, a purry siamese on my knee and a log fire.
Absolute bliss. :)

News from a good friend that she is going to be a Grandma,
Stamps on an envelope not franked, am returning them to the sender. ;D,
Invite out on Christmas eve (but I have to ride a bike to save £50 cab fare:o),
BW is going to teach me to ride a bike, :-\,
A peaceful evening spent with daughter in front of fire, her revising, me knitting, no tv or radio. Bliss.

What a lovely thread, thanks Georgie.
Smile, it confuses people.

On the bus on the way home from work yesterday evening, a young man sitting on the back seat - I think he was a student - started to play his guitar.  Simple I know, but it really put a smile on my face :)  Today I went into town with my sister for a bit of shopping and tea and cake.  Not something we get to do all that much and I really enjoyed it :)

at the feeder table a robin, little birds with yellow markings.  The chilled rose wine at the end of a busy day.  Reading the messages on allotments 4 all.

That's mine.  It fell out of my pocket last time I was visiting.

Two days ago, hubby brought home four cases of beer he got half price at Tesco that he was stashing away for Christmas.

Tonight we opened it  :D  :D :D
