Lovely day here in sunny Enfield, apart from a short shower of rain.  Up on the allotment in a T shirt and enjoying it.  September is often a lovely month, so no winter for me yet, but will still go out in the rain, snow etc with my new pink Wellington Boots.  I hate staying indoors.  October is often OK, November I don't like.  :( :( :( Apart from a good bonfire to burn all the rubbish at the plot, without neighbours moaning about the smoke.  ;D ;D ;D

The real start of Autumn is the autumnal equinox.  From then until the Spring equinox, more hours of dark than light. :( ???

The only good thing about Christmas is that we have passed the Winter solstice, and its all getting lighter, and we can start growing again. ;D

Last Night of the Proms tomorrow sets us on the slippery slope.

Need to start clearing out the greenhouse of tomatoes, etc. :( :( :(

Xmas is definitely upon us, Morrison's have taken the back to school stuff off the shelves, this week the mince pies have appeared. Gardening department reduced to a few Fly Killer sprays and the barbecue stuff reduced to clear. Christmas cards are on sale and as soon a halloween and bonfire night are past the baubles and tinsel will be with us.

Oh definitely, what went wrong this year will be soo much better next  year.  And the thing to really look forward to, the new catalogues will be dropping through the letterbox any day now.

We've had good, very good and disappointing.  But next year we are going to have all good. ;D

I am getting a twinge of sadness, because some of the tomatoes are past their best, and do need rooting out.  Hey ho,
