5 or 11
« on: August 07, 2008, 22:34:05 »
How many do you prefer? Soon you will have no choice! Every salt cellar in every chippy will be changed from 11 holes to 5 holes. by order. You will either have to stand there longer 'shaking your thing' or be like me and sprinkle your chips with great big crunchy lumps of sea salt.

I kid you not.

I'd take the top off and have a pinch or two  ;D
If I ever get it all right - then that's the time to quit.

I got told off at the docs the other day for my salt intake.  I told him I don't buy processed foods and I don't add salt to my cooking but I am rather partial to a layer or two over my food.  I told him that regardless of his ticking off, there are some things I just cannot compromise on - and salt on my dinner is one of them!  He said I'd soon get used to the taste of food without it .... to which I replied, not gonna happen  ;D ;)

I'll definitely be taking longer to shake ma thing if and when it switches to fewer holes, LOL  ;D

Is this true about regulating the number of holes in salt cellars?  If so, it's a wonderfully funny nanny state story.  ;D  Do you know who has proposed it?

Just wait for some daft sod to say the current range of salt cellars have to be withdrawn off the market.......  Grab 'em while you can folks 8) 8)

Most people will just shake it for longer.  However - younger generations who do not yet use salt will grow up not knowing any different to that other than 5 holes in salt cellars.  With youngster having obesity epidemics at the moment, it is probably another brainwave to try and slow down another up and coming health epidemic in years to come.

Too late for me and you......  oh well.  Enjoy it while you can ;D ;D

About 20 years ago I had a girlfriend who convinced me to give up salt just for a month. Bit weird at first but within three weeks I began to really notice whether salt had been added to what I was eating and began to better appreciate the taste of the food itself. I've used much less salt ever since.

everyone knows that cutting out salt in food reduces the chances of having a heart attack - by completely removing any sense of excitement when eating
