Topic: Aren't we all such a happy bunch of people - so easily pleased!

Isn't it nice that a lot of the threads now are coming through with lots of happy people - at peace with the world - happy with their lot and the produce that their lotties/gardens are producing!

Isn't life just great?!

Maybe we aren't all well, or have enough money or have family problems - but just to get a simple glow of happiness from producing some tasty concoction that we all have bothered and worked hard to produce - well it is just so satisfying and tastes so much better!

Isn't it lovely to sit either up the lottie or home with the simple pleasure meaning so much more than possibly even money can buy!

Treasure that feeling!  You have earned it!

According to a sign in my garden "Here lives a lovely lady and a grumpy old man" so my mum is lovely yes at times i am grumply but less of the old i am only 34. :( :o ::)

Quite agree Old Bird. I am always saying to peeps "Every morning I wake I treat as a bonus, I can look out of my kitchen window and watch the Goldfinches feeding, can stroll round the garden and think OMG I bu**ered that up :)  and never a day goes by without one of my children popping in. Today son John popped in for a cuppa at 2.30pm and chatted until 4.30pm!!!! Since his Dad is no longer with us Mum hears all the family and business news!! Hope I live as long as my old Mum did.....2months short of 90.

I've spent the afternoon with my youngest grandson, being covered in bits of kiwi fruit and water,
picked up my eldest grandson and listened to him chattering about school and his weekend plans,
just found out (this week), I'm going to be a grandma again at christmas, God willing,
I'm very pleased with my lot  ;D
all this and I get to eat lovely, fresh veggies, what more could I ask

I was really happy yesterday when my Daughter Georgina rang to say she had been offered a job she really wanted.She has had to jump a lot of hurdles to get it.
Funny thing being a mum,you are so happy when your kids acheave their goals. :)

Betula, I know exactly where you are coming from, my daughter landed a job today and was so happy she cried and they ended up hugging her, bless her.  I know just how you feel... :)

They are just my thoughts, when you see the lotty producing it is all worth while, we have not been to the lotty since Wednesday so cannot wait to see what we can pick :)

Know exactly how you feel.
At my happiest when I am on my lottie, even if it is teaming with rain.
Just sit in the shed with a cup of coffee watching the birds and any other animals that might come along (not seen any of the foxes yet though) but it is even better when the weather is decent and I can get onto the lottie and do some work

On leaving the lottie the other night swapped a bag of strawberries for a
big bunch of flowers a real treat!

yeah i love the walk thru the woods to get to the lottie, sometimes I suprise a wild rabbit who runs into the blackberry bushes, seeing robins and goldfinches in the trees, then looking at the veg growing, getting there and seeing oh there are new flowers on the pumpkin and tomatoes starting to grow. Then feeling very satisfied when you have dug over a big patch and you take a last look at your little plants, in rows, nicely watered, taht you have grown from seed and are now in the ground.

Life's grand when you can appreciate the simple things it brings.

I was sat on the edge of the bean bed, looking at the barren part of the allotments, feeling all ' how on earth are we going to sort this lot out ',big pool of water on one of the areas, all of a sudden, a dragonfly shot out over the water, it's only about 6" deep but it made me feel better  ;D

I'd be very unhappy to see rabbits! But I saw a lovely fox the other day, and there are always the birds. As soon as you get down the lane, it's as though you're in the counrty, and it's only a mile from Birmingham city centre.

At the moment having 2 plots seems to just add to my stress as I see everything that is not done. :(

But my son (22) who has been doing the hard graft actually lept onto the strawberry bed to get the first one and his face split with a huge grin and he announced to the world that he was going to eat at least 1 of everything we grow. lol

Considering he doesn't eat veg normally that's a huge thing for him, (and me). ;D
