Help! plants for shade ?
« on: June 14, 2008, 10:09:45 »
Hi  Everyone,
I have a plot where a bit more than half is in the shade until after 2pm,
shade is from a huge willow.
Apart from a shed and compost bins has anyone any advise on what would
be good to plant in that part, fruit or veg ?

Rhubarb and raspberries can take shade.  Chard, Lamb's Lettuce, Spinach are OK in shade too.

hi, aleeks, nice to meet you,
at least it gets some sun, stuff that doesn't like being too hot, leafy greens maybe  :)

Well done aleeks, I was just came on to ask almost the same question, although my bit of shape doesn't get sun until around 4pm.

I know that couch grass definatly loves it....will try some chard to see how that goes.
