« on: April 23, 2008, 21:43:42 »
Hi i have started a new job and we get a lot of Corn packaging around the pots ...you know the sort it looks like flumps ....my question is can i use it in my large compost bin ..is it worth it ?...will it add anything ?...its white so i assume its in a natural state ...i ate one and it just dissolved into nothing ....
Grateful for advice

If it's organic it will compost....
(so don't stand still on an allotment for too long....)

We had a flood where I used to work with loads of that stuff,
the place stunk of sugar puffs for ages.

Dunno about composting it though, it should be ok, it will help with the air gaps.
Mix it well with other stuff.

If it is corn starch packaging then is should compost very well.

If it rots, compost it.
If it burns, burn it.
If it is chocolate eat it.

You can even put rust into the compost or straight on to the soil it will add iron.
