Finally just about stopped raining. I guess planting the overwintering onion sets will have to wait til next weekend.

Got lots of cooking done though (it just seemed like that sort of day) so it will be good to get home from work in the evenings and all I have to do is decide what to get out of the freezer and heat up.

Like midsummer in Edinburgh. I've weeded leeks and autumn onions - just starting to show green tips - and planted my Early Wight garlic. Then started to lay a new path along by the fence - cleared the weeds, lowered the level and laid down weed fabric. Cut all the grass paths too. I'm changing the paths by the fence to fabric and woodchips to try and lessen the weeding. Not enough time to fetch barrowloads of woodchips today so that will be a job for next weekend, weather permitting.

The midges were out in force! :o :o :o

Agree, yesterday was so miserable in Enfield and it was the firework display in the evening in the town park.  I must admit I didn't go went to bed early and read my book.  Feel sorry for the families that dragged their children around in the rain. Better today, warmer but still wet under foot at the allotment.  Hate these dark evenings.  Been pretty quiet this year so far firework wise, see what happens on Wednesday night.

Lovely day here, managed to get to the allotment for the first time in ages and even took m coat off whilst I was there! Now have a huge sack full of weeds to show for it and the plot is looking cared for once again.

Brought home the last of the butternut squash and glad to see the leeks are coming on a treat.

Chilly and overcast. Little or no rain today but ground very wet from yesterday's downpour. Got very muddy as soon as I stepped off my bike.
Keep Calm and Carry On
