May Raffle Seed Swap Suggestions Please...?
« on: January 27, 2008, 18:01:31 »
I suggested to the allotment committee about having a raffle to boost funds. The raffle tickets can be sold on the same day as our seedling/seed swap, provided the prizes are awarded on the same day. (May long weekend)
Anyway it seems I will be helping with raffle  ;D
What I would like to know is...
Has anybody else done this before?
What things did you give as prizes?
Did you buy the prizes or were they donated by local companies?
Any help much appreciated
Lauren  :D

Having organised fund raising before, it is always worth writing to local large companies and asking for any donations towards your cause. Local garden centres might be persuaded to donate some gardening type items, probably worth making an appointment with the local managers and seeing in person. It's a bit trickier as you are not a charity, and most companies prefer to donate to them (tax reasons!), but big companies may still offer something; ...don't ask, don't get! ;D

The other option is to ask your plot holders for donations of unwanted goods, even if it's a couple of packet of seeds each, you could put together a few prizes.
Good luck! ;D
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
