A couple from the lottie today: melon and flowers
« on: July 07, 2004, 14:35:34 »
First melon we ever grew! I just hope we'll recognize when it's at its best to harvest.

Name that flower, as if I know all the names hahaha. (sorry not all in focus)

You can smell when they are ripe - I reckon!
They are soft at the ends. = Tim

I heard something like that Tim, thanks anyway. Still, I feel that one can never be sure until it's cut in half.

Of course, I meant 'give a little', not soft. Just like your avocs & mangoes at the market?  Women are very good at this. More practice than the men, I suppose? = Tim

You never cease to amaze Ina - wonderful photos :D  My mouth is watering just looking at your melon and what a beautiful vase of flowers.  Can't identify all of them but do I see phlox and hypericum  ???
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Ah, thanks GG, learned a new name "hypericum", looked it up. I never knew the name of that bush but now I do.
