Hi All,
I want to put down some bark chippings in my chicken run. Is there any particular chippings i should get?
Cheers,
Ian.

I think (but am not 100% sure) that bark chippings are not very healthy for hens, something to do with a mould which can develop on the bark. I've seen wood shavings (dust free) recommended instead.

I thought there was something with bark too, but shavings won't work, as I want this to cover the outside run.

Hmmmm.... I'm not sure what to use. Keep us posted on what you do use as my hens aren't here yet but I'm sure it won't take them long to settle in and trash their run.
