Here are some *Foody Sayings* I found.
Can you think of any more?

01. If life deals you lemons, make lemonade
02. Don't upset the apple-cart
03. Don't put all your eggs in one basket
04. Don't put new wine into old bottles
05. Don't count your chickens before they're hatched
06. An apple a day keeps the doctor away
07. Fish and guests smell after three days
08. It's not worth crying over spilt milk
09. The proof of the pudding is in the eating
10. Always plenty more fish in the sea
11. You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs
12. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar

A slice off a cut loaf is never missed.
Smile, it confuses people.

"If you see in your wine the reflection of a person not in your range of vision, don't drink it." Chinese Proverb

Still applies today. I've made some homebrew that had this affect.

Ta Tim you are kind. My pic shows me in my normal pose after allotment and tea and bun refreshment. Actually the glass will be filled with perry this evening as this is what I'm supposed to writing about in my next column. As needs must...

He/she is like treacle running down a blanket in January. (means they are slow)

He/she bit the big green weanie.  (means he /she died...ate the bad sauage)

He/she is so bad he/she would think nothing about  eating beans on a Saturday.
( means he has no respect for his church!!)

04. Don't put new wine into old bottles

I don't get that one, oops  :-[

A sandwich short of a picnic (that could be me! lol)
A few beers short of a six-pack
As nutty as a fruit cake
He is the apple of my eye
Bringing home the bacon
It's a piece of cake!

Mark 2:22 - And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.
