Mixing Chickens
« on: July 15, 2007, 20:48:01 »
Hi,

my partner and I are hoping to get some POL chickens soon.  We have to build a coop and run first (any plans greatly received for 6 chickens).

I was just wondering if you can keep different breeds of chicken? We were thinking of all hybrids or bantams, either three lots of two, or four and two.

Any advice would be a great help.

Thanks

Toni

they will get on just fine... you sometimes have to be careful with large breeds such as orpingtons and little pekin types as they can get squished in a very small coop....But all my breeds including the bantys get on just fine.

Mine are half big girls & half banites & they all get along fine - the pecking order is funny with several of the tiny ones being above big chicks.   :)
