Debs I am not sure about your question but if you work on about 2 cobs to a plant,about a 1-1/2 cups corn per cob. Does that help
Dawn you can plant direct still, if you have crinkled corn it is a supersweet and it needs a bit more heat to germinate than the others, ground temp should be 24C for direct sowing. For Hybrid sweets and sugar enhanced types 18C will do it. If you have fungicide treated seeds..16C for Supersweets,13C for all others.
