Charlie the hamster!
« on: May 30, 2007, 15:06:05 »
Thought I would post about my pets here ;)

Charlie is a dove, syrian hamster who was born on the 4th January 2007. At the age of about 8-10 days his mother abandoned the litter and him and his brothers had to be hand reared by the breeder. On the 10th February (the day after my birthday) he came to me from Manchester. He was entered into a hamster show in April in the pet category and came 3rd out of about 15 :D

Here are some photos of him:
(I thought I would link them for dial up users)

hi Janeee
Charlie's lovely!
we had a hamster a few years ago, called Hazel, and we let him have full run of our flat in the evenings.
he was ginger coloured until the day he disappeared through a hole in the back of the old fireplace and somehow found his way down into the cellar – when we eventually got him out he was filthy!
we have a cat now, so our hamster-owning days are over, but they are really sweet and we always go and look at them when we go to Pets at Home to buy cat biscuits ;D

Thank you :D

norfolklass, what a shame you can't have another, I love hamsters  :-* I'm hopefully adopting a dwarf hamster from a rescue in a couple of weeks, but we're having a bit of trouble locating a rescue with dwarfies. Might have found one now, we're ringing them later in the week, so keep your fingers crossed! ;) We do have a kitty but Charlie lives in my room and Patch the kitty isn't allowed in here :D
