You dare to call me stupid?
« on: May 24, 2007, 12:24:27 »
Feel free!!  Like everyone else, I had to have a look.

Given that these Colleen are not yet 8 weeks in, I'm not offended.

Just right for the Tuna salad!!

No we wouldn't dare Tim. They look wonderful and probably taste it too. Can't wait for our first.

I am growing Colleen as well' Tim and just gently checked a couple of days ago and spotted a half way decent size potato. I am planning to leave it another week.........but then on the other hand......
Of all the earlies Colleen is the first one into flower, even beating rocket and Accent.

We grow it because it is 'resistant'.

I have never grown it before. it was one of my experiments from the Suffolk Potato Day. What is the flavour like, Tim?  And don't say potato flavoured!!!!!!!!!

When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

Shed - all I can say is a very nice salad potato. I can judge better between Scotches & Wines.

I admire those who can discern between, say 2000 varieties of Tomatoes or a similar number of Potatoes.

Forgetting its resistance, I would grow it anyway.

Mr Flowerdew recommends planting in containers July/August to have spuds thru winter - might need cosseting in frosts etc  :)

My June open-planted potatoes survived the frosts.

Biscombe, I suppose you - there - mean fresh actual Tuna? Here it's mostly tinned.

I see that we have good new advice on what to buy?

Wow Tim, very impressive after such a short time!! I got my first flower or three this weekend on my earlies, in fact my 2nd earlies are fairing better than my int. kidneys, which went in at the same time, albeit a lot deeper (first trench was easily 8" deep, I was never very good at guesstimating!)

I don't care HOW many I get this year, just to be be to eat them and say "I grew that" will do me!
