Am preparing to swap cuttings with an A4A pal, unrooted Chrysanth and Dahlia.
Recent experience with Royal Mail during seed swaps is that 90% plus of 1st class mail gets delivered next morning (certainly within England).
I plan on taking cuttings on Monday afternoon, wrap in wet paper kitchen towel, seal in Polybag and then into padded bag. Post around 17:00 hrs and using 1st class, delivered next morning (Tuesday). Assuming my pal gets home from work at +/- 18:00 hrs the cuttings will have been in a 'damp, dark, airtight place for circa 24 hrs'
Has anyone tried this .... if so any failures and/or tips to improve survival rate
thanks
Mikey
