Allotment Dessertification
« on: May 03, 2007, 16:10:34 »
I dropped into my allotment today to check on the seedlings etc and there I was suddenly in a different country. Standing there with the sun beating down, a dry easterly wind blowing the top half inch of my dusty plot into the far distance and a flock of parakeets screeching across the cloudless sky. I expected tumbleweed to roll past any minute...anyone know how to do a rain dance?

Parakeets are okay - it's when you see the vultures circling that you know it's time to go home ;)

PS. Don't do a rain dance. You'll compact the soil even further! Or do it on the path. I find 'naked' usually helps as well!
