The latest in-store magazine (Spring 2007) for the diy store Homebase has just been released, and it contains .... me! oh yes and a few other allotmenters.
Feature titled 'The good life', 'we hear five women's experiences of working the land'. Not as bad as it sounds and gives a boost to the idea of having an allotment is 'normal'.
The photographer brought Homebase gardening props to wear, including some horrendous pink wellies (seen on another). I was asked to put them on to put a bit more colour in the photos (it was January). "What size are your feet? Reply "8". "Oh these are 5". Nothing else was said.
