Topic: How do you tell that Spring is here?

Yep its true, i think  even I,hibernated in the winter months but of course now planters at the ready, seeds coming out of my ears and trying to rid myself of dandelions  I am raring to go again  ;D

Have been a stay at home Mum for many years with nothing more to think about than keeping home and garden, but with eldest almost about to gain his Law degree and youngest has started college, i became a redundant Mum  :'(
So for the first time i had to find myself a j...j...job  :o  ;)

Now wondering how i am for the first time ever, going to combine work and garden, but believe me I will get there and Mr honeybee is doing plenty of eye rolling ::) when i discuss my plans for the garden this year and his involvement with wood, nails and a saw  ;)
Ohhhh i have big plans  ;D

I usually get so miserable during the winter months when I can' get out into my garden. THIS YEAR i HAD THIS SITE TO LOOK AT AND THE WINTER HASN'T SEEMED HALF AS LONG.  BIG THANKYOU TO YOU ALL

It's spring when things start to go 'boinggg'

Ah but it's so exciting for all us newbies.  Plus it's the first full year we've had our plot so we hopefuly won't be playing catch up all the time and can do some forward planning.

I'm making sure that there's plenty of winter veg this time round so the whole plot isn't dormant through the darker months.  The new shed (did I mention the shed?  I must've mentioned the shed. ;D) should make it a bit more comfortable up there too.

For me it's that little 'dip' in enthusiasm, or as I call it, panic,  that comes between the winter months of planning, poring over seed catalogues, and general ooohing, ahhhing and clockwatching... when you suddenly realise what you've taken on, how much has got to be done and how did you possibly end up with four packets of the same seed variety cos you kept forgetting you'd bought them already and what were you THINKING when you ordered those exotic varieties that only grow in one remote corner of the planet which is NOT Camden Town and space, space, I need more SPACE....

... and the germination of that first little seedling

For me, I suppose, it's when I've got all the seeds, allocated all the plots for each, & No1 Daughter gets out her seed bank & starts to order!!
