window feeders
« on: April 29, 2004, 21:06:55 »

About 4 months ago I bought 2 feeders designed to attach to windows, as I thought it would be lovely to sit in the conservatory and have a 'birds eye view' ( sorry :-\) of the birds
feeding from them.  Alas, no joy as I haven't witnessed any use of them at all.

Has anyone had success with these type of bird feeders??

Same here Debs.
I tried one of these window feeders too and the birds ignored it completely! After about six months and numerous refills and cleanings as the seed was rotting I simply gave up and removed the feeder. The birds are much happier with the feeders I have hanging underneath the birdtable.

I have only ever seen them at 2 peoples houses, and the birds love 'em!  One in Devon at my aunts and one in Cornwall at a friends.  Wonder what tempts the birds in...hunger...or are they just nosey and wanna look inside.  ;)
