Is it an old CRT type, or LCD ?
If its a CRT type - this normally means its probably about to pack-up completely.

If its got a degauss button press this to rid a build up of static - it may clunk.
If its a tft hold down the auto button.
If it doesn't go away its a naff tube CRT or transparency layer TFT
