Topic: Advice please again, sry

Hi As you know i am new to allotments, and have my patch which im working on, see latest blog picture please.

My question is i decided to wait to the new growing year, and have coverd fair bit of me patch,

would you suggest leaving it covered, or is now best time to take stuff of and let it breath and hopefull frost get at it.

what sort of soil do you have steve?

no idea my friend sry bit thick, i know there is no clay, and half is like brown soil  bit clumpy when i dug it, and one half is black soil, very soft like fen soil, on the black half i new he planted potatoes, the other half was just weed.

hope that helps of and advice how to know would be great.

not sure if you open pictures on me blog may give some idea, but other than that not sure.

i dont want to waiste money on products i dont know, but again any advice what to do to help in this question.

Hi steve, in that case there's no reason for the frost to get to the soil, so if you have wholesome organic matter to cover it with, go for it! you'll keep the weeds down, and the worms happy :D
