Being rolled in a clay and chemicals mix they are easier to handle and space, also supposed to germinate and grow better with fungicides reducing rot and some fert in the mix as well...

Sorry, Rosy - got mislaid. As Dad says.

Hello Tim,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Yes, we sell a range of vegetable seeds including pelleted lettuce and carrot seed.  If you send me a mailing address I will arrange for you to be sent our latest catalogue.

 Kind regards

Robert Aldsworth

Pelleted is always more expensive but, to me, it's worth while in not wasting all the thinnings - & time!

Moles Seeds - what a catalogue!!

OK - geared to the commercial grower, but some very good sowing/harvesting charts.

And, yes - pelletd seed for Leeks, Lettuce & Carrots.

Yes.
But as was shown earlier, we still face mainly commercial quantities.
5g is about the smallest - or 2500 pellets for Carrots & 500 'pills' for Lettuce.

But whatever, it contains much good info - such as the charts & Tomato flavour assessment.

One caveat, which I've not yet checked out - I believe that pelleted seed must be used within the year.

when my seeds arrived from Moles it came with a danger warning regarding pelletted seed (which I am glad to say I didn't order) - you've virtually got to wear an anti-nuclear outfit  ;D well ok only partly kidding but you must wear gloves and don't touch the seeds with your hands and wash thoroughly afterwards etc etc

oh boy, not going down that road again - yeah easier to use  ::)

GAS ALERT!!  Let's be sensible?

Standard pelleted seeds are bulked up with an inert filler.
Some have a fungicide incorporated. Others are specially treated to order.

Question - Do you ever handle 13-times-sprayed fruit or vegetables from the supermarket? Do you ever use fungicides/pesticides/herbicides? Do you ever use bleach? Do you panic about the BBE date on food? Quite a number of everyday seeds are fungicide treated.

I still have hair left after over 40 years of exposure to seeds. But then I don't eat them or inhale them, & I do wash my hands well after handling.

A little common sense goes a long way, & a supplier does have to issue a disclaimer?

well I wish I had kept the warning sheet, maybe you didn't get one and I've never received anything like it from any other seed merchant

to answer your questions

I don't go anywhere near non organic produce in supermarkets

never use bleach

never panic about anything, esepcially BBE dates as I am well passed mine  ;D have a nice day
