Potatos growing out of my potatos

Never seen this before,

I lifted a few Cara's earlier, some seem to have little potatos growing out the..   potatos.

Secondary growth... if left alone they would make another tuber... old knobbly varieties like Pink Fir Apple show how variable tubers can be...
