Allotment Scam
« on: July 29, 2006, 19:26:20 »

Our lottie sec has just told me about this scam in our area. It may not be happening all over, but may be as well to be aware.

Two guys are going around allotment sites saying that they come from another site locally. They talk people into lending power tools, generators etc and then are never heard of again.

Watch Out!

I thought that too, but these guys are very plausible. People have fallen for it!

Our ne'er-do-wells went for the more direct approach of cutting down the common chain link fence between our site and the council site adjacent... they cropped their gate and took our stuff away...
