I know, I know!!
I blessed the sound of the first for so many years. BUT-
The bugger is up at the first sparrow fart (03.45) & doesn't stop until 22.00!
You can't hear yourself think. Should I bring in 'Deaf Aid'?
Sorry, give me a blackbird any day?

My sympathies. I once camped under a thorn bush on Arran, and every morning a cuckoo arrived and started up at about 5 AM. The noise a bird makes at close range is incredible.

Robert,
Interesting. I did a challenge walk across Scotland in 2002. They have a name up there for cuckoos - now what was it??

I'm not sure. It's the sort of info I must have somewhere, but if so it's well buried.
